We here at UTG are sad to inform that Squid The Whale have decided to continue on as a band without their longtime vocalist, Bradley Walden. The Michigan-based “rock & soul” group went public with the decision about 45 minutes ago in the form of a Facebook status, and aside from saying “there needed to be a change within the group and letting him go is more than a positive one,” there has been no direct reason given for why this line-up change has been made.

Although the band has made it clear that they plan to stay together and keep things rolling despite the seemingly sudden change, there hasn’t been anything said about the group’s upcoming Pontiac, Michigan show on July 16 with Bad Rabbits and Hopeless Records’ Air Dubai. We encourage any ticket holders and hopeful attendees to stay glued to their social networks for updates regarding the band’s appearance.

We have nothing but our best wishes for both parties and whatever they may have in the future that lies ahead of them. Follow the jump to read the band’s full statement on the matter.

“We have decided to part ways with Bradley Walden. This is not a total disbandment. There needed to be a change within the group and letting him go is more than a positive one. We apologize to any of our fans who showed their love and support with the previous line up. The last thing we wanted to do was let our fans down. It’s just a change that needed to happen. We wish Bradley the best in all future endeavors.”
